About the Career Closet

Mission & vision

Established in 2023, the mission of Jamestown Community College's J. Hawk Career Closet is to increase access to and reduce barriers for all JCC students when it comes to dressing professionally for fieldwork, internships, interviews, networking events, and other professional settings.

Our vision is that all students will leave JCC with a professional wardrobe that can be utilized throughout their academic and career journeys.

Support the J. Hawk Career Closet

If you are looking to give your professional wardrobe a meaningful second life, please consider donating it to the JCC J.Hawk Career Closet. Community support is vital to the success of offering this service to all JCC students. Items are always needed for all genders and all sizes.

Donation guidelines:

  • All donations must be clean, in excellent repair, and no more than 15 years old.
  • All sizes accepted.
  • Accessories like jewelry, belts, ties, briefcases, purses, shoes, etc. are also welcome donations.
  • No undergarments, including stockings or undershirts, can be accepted if they have been used.

Monetary donations

Don’t have clothing to donate but wish to support JCC students? The J. Hawk Career Closet also accepts monetary donations to support shipping items to students from Cattaraugus County Campus and North County Center, purchasing inventory in styles or sizes the closet lacks, replenishing supplies, and more.

Thank you!

The J. Hawk Career Closet is made possible thanks to the JCC Foundation, SUNY, and our generous donors. Thank you for supporting JCC students’ professional development and the mission of the J. Hawk Career Closet!
