Build your professional wardrobe for free
The J. Hawk Career Closet at Jamestown Community College is for all currently enrolled JCC students to build your professional wardrobe for free:
- You can get six items of professional clothing each semester.
- By the time you leave JCC, you’ll have up to 24 items to start your professional wardrobe!
- Items do not need to be returned - they are yours to keep.
Who visits the J. Hawk Career Closet? In 2023-2024, 93 students were served and 359 items were provided.
How to access the J. Hawk Career Closet
The J. Hawk Career Closet is in COCE room 131. Walk-ins are welcome, based on peer assistant availability each semester. You can also make an in-person or virtual appointment. If you have a virtual appointment, items can be shipped to you.
Career Services oversees the closet, and all other aspects are student-run, from inventory to design to customer service. Our peer assistants are trained to provide excellent advice on putting together a professional wardrobe.
J. Hawk Career Closet events
Free Fashion Wednesdays: Every Wednesday, the J. Hawk Career Closet pops up outside of the Student Union! Students can get an unlimited amount of casual clothing for free every Wednesday during Free Fashion Wednesdays.
Dress for Success fashion show: Every year, stop by the Dress for Success Professional Attire fashion show to see the latest finds from the J. Hawk Career Closet! Students will model looks for different industries and professional events, and then compete in a challenge as they dress JCC faculty in professional outfits from the closet.
