Become a phlebotomist
Workforce Development's Phlebotomy program at Jamestown Community College prepares you for a phlebotomy career in a hospital, blood donor center, doctor’s office, or other healthcare institution.
You'll learn skills to be a phlebotomist, including:
- Blood collection
- Specimen processing and storage
- Professionalism in a clinical setting
- Communication, clerical, reception, and courier skills
Lectures are based on current, relevant phlebotomy procedures. You'll also participate in hands-on laboratory practice and a clinical rotation at a local medical facility.
Required for all students: background check, FBI fingerprinting, and child abuse clearances for the State of Pennsylvania
