Your Advisement Team

Individual support from acceptance to graduation

As a student at Jamestown Community College, you’ll have an advisement team to help you from your acceptance to JCC through graduation. Your success navigator, faculty advisor, and counselor each have different roles to help you succeed. You can always reach out to your advisement team with questions!

Success navigator

Your success navigator is your go-to person while preparing for college. They’ll help you with everything from logging into your JCC accounts and understanding courses to finding support services.

Your success navigator will help you with:

  • Support through the student onboarding process
  • Assistance with technology and account login
  • Connecting with advisors, counselors, and other support services

Success navigators also keep in touch by text message to remind you of important deadlines and milestones.

Faculty advisor

If you have declared a major, you will complete advisement each semester with your faculty advisor. Your faculty advisor is chosen for you based on your program.

Your faculty advisor will help you with:

  • Program-specific advisement and course registration
  • Discipline-specific career discussion
  • Graduation and transfer planning

Counselor

If you have not declared a major, you will complete advisement each semester with a counselor through the Success Center.

Counselors also assist all students with exploring career pathways and providing holistic support.

Your counselor will help you with:

  • Advisement and course registration for undecided students
  • Career and/or transfer school discussion
  • Short-term personal support and community referrals
