The Media Arts degree at Jamestown Community College prepares you for transfer to a four-year program and careers as media specialists, educators, and designers with skills in web design, digital filmmaking, photography and digital imaging, multimedia journalism, and electronic storytelling. Media arts graduates are found in fields like TV and radio broadcasting, photography, media production, journalism, digital writing, and film.

While at JCC, you’ll learn how to create and edit media and non-media content, speak in front of diverse audiences, and navigate an increasingly global workforce. The program helps you build skills in digital media, writing, and speaking to communicate with others. You’ll master foundational communication skills like public speaking, media and professional writing, rhetorical analysis, and critical thinking. You can also take electives to explore areas of media production that match your interests and career objectives.

Take advantage of internship opportunities to get real-world experience. Students have completed internships in advertising, art gallery curation, graphic design, journalism, photography, radio broadcasting, social media, TV production, videography, and web content development.
