JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — SUNY Jamestown Community College is hosting an opening reception for its Art Faculty Exhibition from 5-7 p.m. on Feb. 6 at the Jamestown Campus Weeks Gallery.
The event is free and open to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the artists, view their work, and enjoy hors d’oeuvres and light refreshments.
This exhibition features works by JCC’s Art faculty and staff, including illustrations by art and design studio technician Kate Barry; digital/new media collaborative by artists in residence Emily Drew and Aaron Perez; ceramics by Elliott Hong; paintings by adjunct instructors Nathan Jeffery and Kelsey Renko; photography by adjunct instructor Mark Kirsch; and sculpture by instructor Madison LaVallee.
“This is the first faculty exhibition we’ve hosted at the Weeks Gallery since 2019, and we’re very excited to celebrate the talents of the instructors who serve our Fine Arts students at JCC,” said Colin Shaffer, the college’s director of Galleries. “This exhibition offers a unique glimpse into each artists’ practice and creative process, and showcases a wide range of traditional and contemporary media.”
The exhibition is on display at Weeks Gallery, located on the second floor of the Sheldon Center, through March 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays. The gallery is closed on holidays.
