Six Join SUNY Jamestown Community College Faculty

SUNY Jamestown Community College will begin the 2021-22 academic year with six new members of its full-time faculty. 

Tyler Colbert will serve as an assistant professor of nursing on the Jamestown Campus. Colbert has a doctor of nurse practice and bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York, University at Buffalo and previously worked for the Visiting Nursing Association of Western New York. 

 Jennifer Forney joins the faculty as an assistant professor of business on the Jamestown Campus. Forney has a Ph.D. in hospitality management from Iowa State University, a master’s degree in education from Canisius College, and a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from the University of Pittsburgh. Forney previously served as a hospitality management instructor at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. 

Allison Johnson will serve as an instructor of nursing on the Jamestown Campus. Johnson holds a master’s degree in nursing from Case Western Reserve University, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from UB. Johnson previously served as a pediatric nurse practitioner at  Jamestown Pediatric Associates.

Madison LaVallee joins the faculty as an instructor of art on the Jamestown Campus. LaVallee holds a master’s degree of fine arts from SUNY Albany and bachelor’s degrees in fine arts and in art education from SUNY New Paltz. She previously served as a faculty member at Skidmore College, Hudson Valley Community College, and the University at Albany.

An adjunct instructor at JCC since 2016, Laura Parmenter will join the full-time faculty as an assistant professor of biology and chemistry on the Cattaraugus County Campus. Parmenter has a doctorate of chiropractic degree from Sherman College of Chiropractic and a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Saint Vincent College.

 An adjunct instructor at JCC since 2018, Jessica Swanson will join the full-time faculty as an assistant professor of the occupational therapy assistant program on the Jamestown Campus. Swanson received a doctorate of occupational therapy (OTD) from Chatham University, and a master’s in occupational therapy and a bachelor’s degree in Health studies from Gannon University.
