OLEAN, N.Y. — The Hatch Small Business Incubator at SUNY Jamestown Community College will be kicking off its first workshop in collaboration with the Cattaraugus County Cornell Cooperative Extension on Tuesday, July 16 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Cattaraugus County Campus College Center cafe.

This workshop will focus on making sourdough bread. Participants will learn how to make sourdough starter, different recipes, food safety, and fermentation. They will also have the opportunity to taste different sourdoughs and leave the workshop with a sourdough starter to begin their own bread making journey.

“The workshop component of The Hatch is meant to have a meaningful impact on community members, small business owners, and entrepreneurs,” explains Brianna Shay, coordinator of Innovation & Entrepreneurship. “While these workshops are fun and interactive, they are also intentionally created to help spur ideas and educational opportunities.”

The Hatch at SUNY JCC offers several resources to Olean area small businesses and entrepreneurs. These include workshops, programs, mentorship, networking events, and facility rentals for new businesses.
