The IMT ceremony took place May 19 at the Hultquist Building on the Jamestown Campus. The CNC and Welding Fundamentals ceremony took place June 2 at the Olean Manufacturing Technology Institute on the Cattaraugus County Campus.
The acquisition of several grants, and the collaboration with area Workforce Development boards, made it possible to offer these Advanced Manufacturing programs at no cost to students.
Enrolled students completed between 270 and 330 hours of training. The majority of the hours were dedicated to hands-on instruction utilizing industry-standard equipment, which allows students to develop job-ready expertise.
The graduates were: Patrick Alfonso, Andrea Blew, Kristopher Cook, Dawson Dwaileebe, Sandy Eberle, Joseph Edmund, Brandon Emley, Christopher Gayton, Mason Hamilton, Phoenix Humbert, Christopher John, Nicolas McRae, Tim Osterhout, Gabriel Rowles, Jeffery Russell, and Jessica Walczak.
“These programs give students who are ready to enter the workforce the short-term training they need for skilled manufacturing jobs,” explains Gregg Karl, Workforce Development Program Manager. “Students leave these programs with plenty of hands-on experience and a variety of industry-recognized credentials.”
