Support for single parents at JCC
As a single parent, providing for your family is your priority. Earning a college degree opens doors for career advancement, increased job opportunities and better quality of life for you and your family. It’s not easy to raise a family and go to college, but at Jamestown Community College you’re not alone.
At JCC, we work collaboratively with you through a program created to help support the educational and personal needs unique to single parent students. Single Parents Reaching Education to Employment (SPREE) works with single parent students to help them complete their program at JCC and secure sustainable employment upon graduation. Single parent students at all JCC locations are welcome and encouraged to enroll in the SPREE program!
Every family is different and needs a consistent support network. No matter what barriers you may face as you achieve your educational and life goals, SPREE is here for you.
SPREE participants have access to:
- Peer support groups and networking
- College and community resources/support services
- Employment services
- Food assistance (Including SNAP)
- Personalized assistance from the SPREE achievement coach and project navigator
- Assistance with establishing financial stability
- Emergency funds for barriers impacting program completion
- Other specialized services dedicated to enrolled single parent students
