The Week's Gallery will host an opening reception and curator's talk for it's fall exhibition. Erika Diamond, curator for "Reiterations in Glass," is a textile-focused artist, curator, and educator. She holds degrees from Rhode Island School of Design and Virginia Commonwealth University.
Diamond has exhibited nationally and abroad in such venues as Contemporary Craft, Dinner Gallery, Form & Concept Gallery, and Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art. Her work is included in the collections of San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles and Ally Bank. Residencies and Grants include: McColl Center, Platte Forum, and UNCA STEAM Studio.
"Reiterations" features a breadth of techniques and perspectives in the ever-expanding field of glass. Each artist on view was previously shown in Corning Museum of Glass’s publication "New Glass Review 42." Diamond was introduced to many of the exhibiting artists as one of the jurors for that publication. This curatorial project acts as an extension of that discovery process, and as a way to further connect the JCC community to the resources of the nearby glass museum.
The exhibit is open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. weekdays from Oct. 5 - Nov. 30. Hours exclude holidays and any event that closes the campus.
