Let's talk about Banned Books, censorship, and recent legislature passed to arrest librarians. Banned Books Week is an annual event launched in 1982 in response to a sudden surge in challenges to books in schools, bookstores, and libraries. The event highlights the value of free and open access to information, by bringing librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types together in shared support of the freedom to seek and express ideas.
