- In Person
- Classes meet in person on campus; specific days/times/location

- Hyflex
- Combines online and face-to-face instruction. Students may participate in different ways: online - synchronous, online - asynchronous, face-to-face, or as a flexible learner (student has a degree of choice as to how they participate each week).
- Flex
- Flex courses may provide students with the opportunity to meet in-person on campus, on the synchronous days and times already scheduled, if conditions allow.
- Imputed credits
- Imputed credits are developmental courses for students who need to prepare themselves for college-level work. They count toward financial aid requirements but do not count toward earned college credits or GPA.
- Interactive TV
- Classes are taught live from one campus location and broadcast to one or more additional campus locations. Cameras and microphones at all sites allow faculty and learners to see and talk with each other.
For centuries, Italy has been a destination and inspiration for artists. Using museums, piazzas, and basilicas as our living classroom, students will study directly from master artists such as Da Vinci, Botticelli, Michelangelo, and Carvaggio. Students will use materials such as graphite, charcoal, water media, and collage to create artwork inspired by the surrounding art, architecture, and culture. After returning from Italy, students will curate and participate in an on-campus exhibition, representing the work they made. Prior to the trip, students will be introduced to materials and techniques that they can incorporate into their artwork (Italy coursework). Students will also be introduced to cultural expectations, basic language and communication skills, along with a background in Italian art history and knowledge of Italian contemporary art. Food and basic travel language will be introduced and practiced throughout the trip, for example students will be able to order coffee or buy something at a pharmacy. This trip will integrate practical skills to communicate and travel throughout Italy, along with an appreciation and understanding of Italian art and culture. No requisites.
