"A language is not just words. It’s a culture, a tradition, a unification of a community, a whole history that creates what a community is. It’s all embodied in a language."

-Noam Chomsky

I have always been a passionate language learner, and I was lucky enough to make my passion my career. I teach dynamic Spanish classes here at Jamestown Community College where students learn so much more than words - the cultures, traditions, history, and community knowledge that go along with the language are ever-present in my classes. Students who take these classes will take advantage of 21st century technology to learn about languages and cultures in a way that previously was not possible without travel.

I am also a firm believer that everyone can benefit from world travel. Your language learning experiences will be magnified and sharpened, your sense of empathy expanded, and your self-reflection brought into clearer focus. For these reasons and more, I am partnering with various programs here at JCC to make study abroad opportunities available to all students.

In addition to teaching and networking on study abroad opportunities, I oversee the department of World Languages, currently offering Spanish, French, American Sign Language, and Italian. I am also the liaison for College Connections Spanish in our partner high schools. I am also an active member of ACTFL.
