Recruiter-Workforce Development and Adult Students/Career Services Specialist

I joined Jamestown Community College in the spring of 2024 as a Workforce Development recruiter and Career Services specialist. In this role, I am motivated to help individuals achieve their educational and career aspirations, connect them with local resources to overcome barriers, and support JCC students in their academic and professional journeys.

I recruit for Workforce Development’s manufacturing short-term programs that are designed to help underemployed and unemployed workers start careers in the manufacturing fields such as welding, machining/CNC operating, industrial maintenance and building automation systems. Other available programs upskill current employees or individuals with some experience in CNC machining or industrial maintenance/automation. The department also works to coordinate funding from local organizations to help cover the program’s fees when possible.

My academic background includes a biology degree from the University of Kansas, an associate degree in nursing from SUNY Jamestown Community College, and I am currently pursuing a master's degree in adult education from SUNY Buffalo State University. My diverse professional experience spans roles as a laboratory technician, teacher, registered nurse, tutor, and library assistant. Each of these experiences has broadened my perspective, deepened my connection to the community, and reinforced my belief in the value of lifelong learning and personal growth.

Beyond work, I enjoy watching, officiating, and coaching volleyball, traveling, skiing, exploring the outdoors, visiting the library, staying active, and spending quality time with family and friends. Parenting is one of my greatest joys, and I am incredibly proud of my daughter. I believe that embracing new experiences, continuously learning, and taking reasonable risks make life both fulfilling and exciting!
