Assistant Professor
I teach Engineering Science as well as Mechanical Technology courses. I'm also the co-advisor for the Technology Club. My favorite part of teaching at JCC is working with the students and seeing them learn and mature. My message for students is to stay determined, work harder than you thought you could, and don’t give up.
I am a lifelong resident of Jamestown who graduated from JCC in 1989. I went on to complete my B.S. and Ph.D. in experimental physics. I moved back to Jamestown in 1998, where I have been involved in manufacturing and post-secondary education since. Most recently I was the talent pipeline manager and apprenticeship program coordinator for the Manufacturers Association of the Southern Tier.
Previously I was the manager of Product Development for SKF Aeroengine North America. In this position I was responsible for managing a team of engineers focused on new product development and testing in cutting edge technologies, such as advanced materials, for insertion into aerospace applications.
Prior to that I held the position of president of Blackstone-NEY Ultrasonics, a division of the Cleaning Technologies Group LLC. Before that I was the manager of research and development technology with SKF Aeroengine in Falconer, New York. I was also an assistant professor at Jamestown Community College where I helped implement the Manufacturing Technology Institute (MTI) at JCC.
I cut my teeth in manufacturing working for Costa Machine in Akron Ohio as a junior machinist. Few things make me happier than the smell of coolant, and the making of chips. I love teaching, learning, and understanding how things work. Outside of work, I enjoy hunting and fishing.
