Freshman representatives are Israel-Akinbo, Nelson; Miracle Berakah of Jamestown; QinDi Gerwitz-Dunn of Buffalo; and Blessing Murombo of Leeds, England.

Irene Aloyce of Rochester is the elected student representative to the SUNY JCC Board of Trustees for the 2022-2023 academic year.

“I can’t wait to work with the board members and the college president,” Aloyce said. “I am looking forward to seeing the changes that this year’s student senate is going to make.”

A student in JCC’s Social Sciences program, Aloyce is interested in political science and government. Her current career goal is to become a lawyer. Aloyce is also a resident assistant, and enjoys the diversity of the community that has chosen her to represent them.

“We have students from different backgrounds, ethnicity, gender, race, and even people from different continents,” Aloyce exclaimed. “Students here get to experience and learn about different cultures without going outside of the states, which is amazing.”

Kayla Crosby, director of Campus Life; James Kelemen, administrative specialist; and Rose Torres, senior student services assistant, are advisors for this year’s senate.
