New student orientation
We are excited to welcome you to Jamestown Community College! All first time, full time, new students are required to attend Mandatory New Student Orientation the week before classes start. You'll learn about JCC technologies, academic and holistic support, and life as a college student.
Note that orientation does not include advisement or registration for classes. To be eligible to register for orientation, you must schedule your advisement appointment to register for your classes.
- You can do this through the steps for Advising for New Students »
- You are encouraged to attend an Accepted Student Day, available in Jamestown and Olean »
If you are unable to attend New Student Orientation in person or are taking classes only online, you will need to complete the JCC Online Orientation in Brightspace (available in August). This online orientation is open for all students throughout the semester, and is required for those unable to come to an in-person orientation.
Next steps
- Residence Life orientation: Are you going to be living on campus? Plan to attend a mandatory Residence Life Orientation on the evening of Move In Day. There is no need to register for this session, and details for this event will be sent to you by the Residence Life office. You should still plan to attend new student orientation.
- Check out the our Next Steps for Accepted Students checklist to see what else you can do before classes start.
