New student orientation

We are excited to welcome you to Jamestown Community College! All first time, full time, new students are required to attend mandatory new student orientation the week before classes start. You'll learn about JCC technologies, academic and holistic support, and life as a college student.

Before Orientation: Advisement & Registration

Orientation does not include advisement or registration for classes. To be eligible to register for orientation, you must first schedule your advisement appointment to register for your classes. You are encouraged to attend an Accepted Student Day.

Prepare for Your First Day
  • Residence Life orientation: Are you living on campus? Plan to attend a mandatory Residence Life Orientation on the evening of Move-in Day. There is no need to register for this session, and details for this event will be sent to you by the Residence Life office. You should still attend new student orientation.

Cattaraugus County Campus students

Wednesday, August 19 | 3:30-8 p.m.

If you are unable to attend in person, you will need to complete the virtual orientation in Brightspace (available in August).

Jamestown Campus students

Fully online students

Fully online students at JCC complete orientation through Brightspace modules plus a live Zoom session. If you are on online student, you are automatically enrolled in the Brightspace modules, but will need to register separately for the live Zoom session.
