JCC students, faculty, and staff are invited to participate in a special event sponsored by the Non-Traditional Student Network Club. Egg hunt, crafts, movies, and games for children, refreshments for all. Proceeds from a raffle benefit the Salvation Army's safe house
Storyteller Paul Leone will recite Walt Whitman's "When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom'd," an elegy on the death of Abraham Lincoln. The work was written immediately after Lincoln's assassination. The reading will be accompanied by Kerry Byard on Flute, Marian Byard on cello, and Hannah Byard on violin.
Virtuoso saxophonist Andy Wen graces the Scharmann Theatre stage performing 20th and 21st century works for saxophone and piano. Wen premiered his fifth concerto in February 2017 with the Little Rock Wind Symphony with a three movement concerto composed by JCC music faculty member Neil Flory.
Vocal and instrumental talent will be displayed during the semester's end performance. Virtuoso classical saxophonist Andy Wen will present the New York premiere of Neil Flory’s Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Wind Ensemble during the concert.
The exhibition is on display November 6-December 14.
