EARN Grant

• Open to current high school students 15 and older by the start of the class.
• Must be enrolled in high school or homeschooled and filing an individualized home instruction plan (IHIP) with a school district.

EARN students get a head start on their college education while in high school. As an EARN student, you: 

• Have the option to participate in extracurricular and academic activities.
• Have the ability to join groups and clubs to integrate with college life.
• Have the option to attend special events hosted by JCC.
• Can use facilities on campus, including the gym and library.

• EARN students can enroll in classes listed in the credit course schedule for each term. Students must meet all course requirements prior to enrolling.
• The EARN grant will cover half the cost of in-state tuition for up to two courses or half the cost of out-of-state tuition for one course each semester.
• Students are responsible for all fees (non-refundable after the start of classes), the remaining tuition after the grant is applied, and any textbooks/supplies.

Fall 2026: 

• August 14 Deadline for Fall applications

• October 7 Six-week grades entered into Banner Web by 3 p.m.
• October 12 Fall Break - no classes
• October 13 Faculty Development Day - no classes
• November 23-29 Fall Break - Thanksgiving - no classes
• December 16 Last day of classes
• December 17-18 Final examinations
• December 18 Last day to officially withdraw from an individual class with a grade of "W"
  • Last day to choose CR/F grade option for traditional semester courses
• December 21 Grades entered into Banner Web by noon

Spring 2027:

• January 6 Bill payment due
• January 8 Deadline for Spring applications
• January 19 First day of classes
• February 15 President’s Day - no classes
• February 16 Development Day - no classes
• March 10 Six-week grades entered into Banner Web by 3 p.m.
• March 22-28 Spring Break – no classes
• May 12 Last day of classes
• May 13-14 Final examinations
• May 14 Last day to choose CR/F grade option for traditional semester courses
  • Last day to officially withdraw from an individual class with a grade of "W"
• May 17 Grades entered into Banner Web by noon

• Enrollment in a course is on a space-available basis.
• All eligibility requirements for course(s) you are enrolling in must be met prior to the start of class.
• Students are required to have a parent or guardian sign off on their application.
• Students who are NYS residents must have a valid certificate of residence (COR) form on file or fill out a COR form to receive the in-state tuition rate.
• Students taking courses on campus must adhere to all health and immunization requirements.
• Official transcripts can only be sent by request of the student. Get details on how to order official transcripts or view a copy of your unofficial transcript.
• If you no longer wish to take a course you have registered for, contact CollegeConnections@sunyjcc.edu or your JCC success navigator as soon as possible to discuss your options for dropping or withdrawing from the course.
