Next steps for accepted international students

Congratulations on your acceptance to Jamestown Community College! We're excited to welcome you to southwestern New York and JCC.

After you've been accepted, complete our next steps for international students, and you'll be ready to get started when you arrive.

2. Housing and meal plans

Apply for housing.

When you live on the Jamestown Campus, you get five meals a week at no extra cost. Meal plans are optional. Learn more about meal plans.

4. Health insurance

All international students are required to have health insurance. International students are automatically enrolled and billed each semester.

5. Flight and transportation

Book your flight and arrange transportation.

Complimentary transportation will be provided from the Buffalo airport (BUF) on August 22 at noon and 4 p.m. to the Jamestown Campus. If you want to use this service, complete this form.

If you do not use the provided transportation, you will need to arrange and pay for your own transportation. Services available include Sal’s Taxi Service (716.296.2887) and Fancee Transportation.

6. Placement testing

Once you're on campus, plan for placement testing.

7. Register

After your placement test, you will get an advisor, who will help you register for classes.

8. Student bill

International student bills generate once you have registered for classes.

To view your bill:

  1. Go to
  2. Click Enter Secure Area.
  3. You will need your student ID (J-number) or social security number and personal identification number (PIN). The first time you log in, you will be directed to create a more secure PIN of your choice. You should also set up and answer a security question. This will enable you to reset your PIN if you forget it or become locked out of the site. If you do not set up a security question and require JCC to reset your PIN, you will need to do so in person or receive a new PIN through the mail.
  4. Click Student.
  5. Click Registration.
  6. Click View Your Bill.
  7. Select the term you want to view.
  8. Confirm your legal name.
  9. Complete the Student Financial Responsibility Form (FRA) for this term.
  10. Once completed, you will be able to view your bill.

How to pay your international bill:

  1. After you view your bill in Banner, click on the link at the bottom of the bill titled, Click here to access Nelnet.
  2. You will be redirected to Nelnet Business Solutions. You will create an account on your first visit. Afterward, you will be automatically logged in when you access the site through Banner.
  3. Click Make a Payment.
  4.  Select amount to pay, check the box, then click Next - Payment Method.
  5. Choose International Payment under payment method.
  6. Follow the steps to proceed to Flywire. A pop-up will potentially appear choose the option to click here - do not continue to homepage.
  7. You will then be redirected to Flywire to finalize your payment.
9. Orientation

Attend international student orientation. Orientation is mandatory.

The fall 2018 date for international student orientation is Thursday, August 23.
